Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information MageEnv collects through PlatePages, why, and your choices. We keep it short because we collect very little.

Restaurant owners (our customers)

• Account details: your email address, a securely hashed password, and your business's country and time zone.
• Your site content: the menu, photos, opening hours, contact details and other information you add. This is published on your website on purpose.
• Payments: handled by Paddle, our reseller and Merchant of Record. We never see or store your full card details. Paddle shares with us what we need to run your account, such as your name, billing country and subscription status. See Paddle's privacy policy.
• Security logs: IP addresses of sign-in and sign-up attempts, kept briefly to stop abuse.

We use this to provide the service, keep it secure, send emails about your account (such as confirmations, password resets, trial and renewal reminders), and answer your questions. We don't sell your information, and we don't send marketing emails without your permission.

Guests visiting a restaurant's site

Restaurant websites on PlatePages don't use advertising or tracking cookies. When someone scans a QR code, we count the scan with the time only, so the restaurant can see how often its codes are used. We don't record who scanned it. Our servers keep standard technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security, for a short time. Maps on restaurant pages are provided by Google Maps, which has its own privacy policy.

Where it's stored and for how long

Data is stored on our hosting provider's servers with encrypted connections and nightly backups. We keep your account while you use PlatePages. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete it and your content within 30 days, and it leaves our backups within a further 30 days. We keep payment records for as long as tax law requires.

Your rights

You can see and edit most of your information in your dashboard. You can also ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it, wherever you live. Email info@mageenv.com and we'll respond within 30 days.

Service providers

We use a small number of trusted providers to run PlatePages: our hosting provider, Paddle for payments, Cloudflare for domain name services, and Google Fonts and Google Maps on web pages.

Changes

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll email account holders before the change applies.
